I will confess that the name of the blog has no meaning. When I was registering this blog with my colleague, I couldn’t think of a name for it. “How about that?” he suggested, pointing to the postcard I had pasted in my cubicle. Here it is:
Science and Maths are fun and interesting subjects that are taught as boring and mechanical subjects in school. This makes people grow up thinking Science and Maths are boring and mechanical, and scientists are boring and mechanical. Actually, Science and Maths are the foundations of modern life. They are interesting and accessible to people who are willing to put in time to understand them…just like many other things. I find it very strange why people can spend so much time on understanding Arts and Literature, due to a sense of obligation that an educated person ought to be educated in Arts and Literature (true), but is willing to give just enough time to Science and Maths to dismiss it as arcane and too hard. Everyone can be a scientist, just like everyone can be an artist or a poet or play a musical instrument.
